Each School Essentials Pack is customised in consultation with the child’s carer or support worker and can include:
- Pencil case filled with pen, pencils, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, textas, crayons or highlighters
- Stationery such as display books, binders, scissors, staplers, protractors or plastic sleeves
- Exercise books, binder books, dotted thirds books or project books
- USB Sticks
- Calculators
- Combination padlocks
- Notepads
- Lunch box and drink bottle
- Library bag
- Other school supplies like socks, deodorant, sunhats, hair ties, tissues
For many children, the return to school is a period filled with eager anticipation and excitement, offering the opportunity to reunite with friends and share enjoyable experiences. However, for those who have recently endured the trauma of displacement or relocation without their belongings, starting at a new school without the essential supplies can cause significant anxiety and stress.
No child should feel anxious, embarrassed, or frightened to attend class the next morning only because they don’t have basic school supplies.
